Back to GI

Well … we went back to GI yesterday.  M had to stop taking the reflux medication as it was causing her stomach cramps and making her miserable.  BUT … I removed apple from her diet … and she’s almost stopped spitting up!

She still has ‘wet burps’ that she finds funny to hold in her mouth.  I know … EWWW.  But you try to convince a 3.5 year old to swallow when they don’t want to!  This has now been an added statement during ABA … Swallow please.

Look this way …

Strabismus, also called crossed eyes, is a condition in which the eyes do not properly align with each other when looking at an object.  Exotropia is a form of strabismus where the eyes are deviated outward.

The brain’s ability to see three-dimensional objects depends on proper alignment of the eyes. When both eyes are properly aligned and aimed at the same target, the visual portion of the brain fuses the forms into a single image. When one eye turns inward, outward, upward, or downward, two different pictures are sent to the brain. This causes loss of depth perception and binocular vision.

Strabismus occurs in about 2% of children.

Doctor Appointments

We met R2D2

We had our GI doctor’s appointment today at Children’s Hospital.  And we met R2D2 … more about that in a moment!  First, the doctor visit.
